The Whole Armor of God

¹⁰ Finally, ^(A)be strong in the Lord and in ^(B)the strength of his might. ^11 (C)Put on ^(D)the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ^(E)the schemes of the devil.

Peter and John Before the Council

4 And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and ^(A)the captain of the temple and ^(B)the Sadducees came upon them, ² greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming ^(C)in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. ³ And they arrested them and ^(D)put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. ⁴ But many of those who had heard the word believed, and ^(E)the number of the men came to about five thousand.

¹⁰ let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that ^(A)by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, ^(B)whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. ^11 (C)This Jesus^[a] is the stone that was ^(D)rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.^{[b] 12} And there is ^(E)salvation ^(F)in no one else, for ^(G)there is no other ^(H)name under heaven given among men^[c] by which we must be saved.”

^13 (I)Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ But seeing the man who was healed ^(J)standing beside them, ^(K)they had nothing to say in opposition.

²⁹ And now, Lord, ^(A)look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all ^(B)boldness, ³⁰ while ^(C)you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed ^(D)through the name of your ^(E)holy servant Jesus.” ³¹ And when they had prayed, ^(F)the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and ^(G)they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and ^(H)continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

¹⁸ they arrested the apostles and ^(A)put them in the public prison. ¹⁹ But during the night ^(B)an angel of the Lord ^(C)opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, ²⁰ “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all ^(D)the words of ^(E)this ^(F)Life.” ²¹ And when they heard this, ^(G)they entered the temple ^(H)at daybreak and began to teach.

Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
